Southern Group Training participates in a huge number and variety of trades and business related events and programmes.
To the right you can see a list of the recent awards we have won through our commitment to placing young people into apprenticeships, as well as those competitions and events that we sponsor or help organise.
Our hope is that as more of these quality events are held in and around Southland we can do our part to raise the profile and attractiveness of trades as a viable career path for Southland youth.
2010 WorldSkills Southland Event
The Southland Regional Competition for WorldSkills will be taking place on Saturday March 27th at the Southern Institute of Technology.
Come along and watch or even participate yourself! It's a great place to see local talent in action or show your own to potential employers!
WorldSkills Event 2009, Calgary Canada
The New Zealand National WorldSkills team, the "Tool Blacks" competed in the 40th WorldSkills competition in Canada.
The Tool Blacks were ranked 21st out of 50 participating nations. We've put together some highlights and even found a video of the team doing a haka.
