The 39th WorldSkills Competition is officially over. The medals, awards and certificates have all been given out and the Competitors will be returning home shortly. The Closing Ceremony was a wonderful display of energy and excitement. The New Zealand 'Tool Blacks' achieved their best result at a WorldSkills Competition in their 20 year of particpating.

The New Zealand team won a total of 6,543 points giving us the rank of 24th out of 46 member countries that competed. Japan achieved the highest score with 21, 139 points - 12 Golds, 4 Silvers, 3 Bronzes and 8 Medallions of Excellence which is a fantastic performance; the Japanese team consisted of 41 competitors in total.
