
Southern Group Training has always aimed to support, encourage and reward talented young people in and around Southland. This year Southern Group Training is helping to sponsor the Young Enterprise Scheme end of year event.
Southern group training will Sponsored the Best Report section of the evening.
The Young Enterprise experience involves students in years 12/13 in the process of effective decision-making within the business environment.
Throughout the school year the students take ownership and operate their own company model as though it was operating in the outside world.
This is done with real money in real time.
Throughout the program there is substantial training and mentoring beginning with the 'E Day' Director's training program.
The first awards were The Oral Awards which were held in June followed in August with a public Trade Fair and concluding with the final end of year awards and presentations.
For those who wish they can sit the Young Enterprise Exam which have NZQA Qualification standards giving credits in NCEA, University Entrance and NZIM management papers.
Those that take up this challenge are always rewarded with adventure and those that take responsibility for their own company and for their own decisions are the ones who experience the greatest success. Students learn and get prepared for the business world by doing and accepting the challenge that the scheme can provide.”
